XI Star hold Khetri

Imphal, Aug. 17: XI Star Sporting Union settled for a 1-1 draw against Khetri Iril Mapal Youth Club to stay on top with 11 points in the Maharajkumar Ghanendrajit Memorial Super Division Football League at Khuman Lampak sports complex.

Occupying the second slot is United Progressive Adult Association with eight points while Youth Organisation and Sporting Club are with seven points. Khetri Iril have six points, Progressive Youth Association have five points, Athletic Brothers Association and Eastern Sporting Union have four points and Citizen Club are yet to open their account. M. Romi Meitei opened the account for XI Star in the 15th minute for the lead. Khetri Iril got their equaliser only during injury time, when M. Ramesh Singh converted a penalty for the 1-1 draw.

In another match, Eastern Sporting Union had a goalless draw against Athletic Brothers Association to share a point each.

Kakching soccer: IYA thrashed AVO by 10-0 goals in the seventh Kishorekumar Memorial First Division Football League at Kakching in Thoubal district.
