Silchar claim title

Hailakandi, Aug. 10: The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has declared Silchar the winner of the under-19 J.K Baruah Trophy inter-district cricket championship today.

Silchar District Sports Association (DSA) sources said the ACA has found no weight in the complaint lodged by Goalpara and declared Silchar the winner.

Silchar had defeated Goalpara in the April 19 and 20 final at Dibrugarh.

Goalpara had lodged a written complaint after the match that some players in the Silchar team were from outside the district.
