Banks shut

Shillong, Aug. 10: SBI branches across Meghalaya will remain shut tomorrow to protest against the abduction of an SBI official from Gasuapara in the South Garo Hills.

The SBI Officers’ Association and SBI Staff Association today said several abductions of SBI staff members and the public have taken place.

“The state government has not taken any constructive steps to protect us,” a member of the association said.
