Feeling at home: Atif

Calcutta: Pakistan’s Atif Waheed is overwhelmed by the love and affection he is getting in India.

Here in the city for the Pro-Kabaddi League, the Telugu Titans recruit says he never expected this. “I am overwhelmed by the affection. I never expected something like this.”

Having landed in India on July 25, Atif celebrated Id with his Indian teammates. “Had a wonderful Id the other day. I thought as if I were at home in Pakistan,” the Gujranwala player said. Apart from Atif, Telugu Titans also have his compatriot Wajid Ali in their ranks.

Coach J. Udaykumar said the duo has fitted into the side perfectly. “It’s like a family.”

Atif said India and Pakistan should organise more sporting events.
