Riflemen trounce Dupkon FC 10-2

Dibrugarh, July 27: Assam Rifles, Shillong, rode a hattrick by Akum Ao to trounce Dupkon FC, Dhemaji, by 10-2 goals in the sixth Bodousa Cup Football tournament organised by the Bodousa Sports Club at Kakopathar in Tinsukia today.

Ao scored his goals in the 11th, 28th and 40th minutes respectively. M. Chetri opened the account in the fourth minute while Ajit Singh scored the second goal in the eighth minute and M. Kami scored in the 27th minute.

Dupkon FC, however, reduced the margin through a penalty scored by Horesh Mil in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, Rifles player L.C Mowia scored a brace in the 52nd and 62nd minutes.

Four minutes later, Santu Singh scored the ninth goal and K. Kepjien scored another goal in the 73rd minute.

Down and out, Dupkon scored one more through Korap Sonowal in the 78th minute.

In another match at B. Lachit Stadium, Sadiya, ITBP, Arunachal Pradesh defeated Jagaran Sangha, Calcutta by 2-0 goals.
