Indians are fit and fine

London/Calcutta: The Indian team reached Southampton on Wednesday for the third Test against England, beginning on Sunday.

The visitors lead the five-match series 1-0 following their 95-run triumph at Lord’s in the second Test.

According to the team’s media manager, all the players are fit and fine. The Indians are expected to practice on Thursday.

The Indian camp is still undecided on whether to play Ravichandran Ashwin in Southampton in place of Stuart Binny. The off-spinner didn’t find a place in the XI in the first two Tests. The conditions though will have a big say on the team composition.

Binny didn’t bowl in the second innings at Lord’s and sent down only 10 overs in the first essay. England have been saddled with their own problems.

Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler is set to make his Test debut after being called up to replace Matt Prior in England’s 13-man squad.

Prior announced that he was withdrawing from the England squad for the final three matches of the series because of poor form and injury.

Buttler, 23, has played 33 one-day Internationals and 36 Twenty20 matches for England.
