Radhamandap beat Nilamani

Imphal, July 22: Defending national champions Radhamandap Sanskrit Vidyalaya, Nambol, beat Nilamani English School, Mayang Imphal, by 2-0 goals to move into the semi-finals of the state-level under-17 Girls’ Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, 2014 played on artificial turf at Khuman Lampak sports complex today.

Five girls’ teams are vying for the top honours and the winning team will represent Manipur in the national-level championship to be held in New Delhi later this year.

Radhamandap Sanskrit team had a smooth run in the opening match with N. Ratanbala Devi getting her team an early lead in the sixth minute for the lead.

In the second half, Ratanbala Devi scored again for the victory.

In another match, Highland Academy, Kangpokpi, thrashed Emanual English Academy, Churachandpur, by 2-0 goals to sail into the semi-finals.
