Caroline Wozniacki has taken a dig at her ex-fiancee Rory McIlroy on the day he moved to the top of the Open Championship leaderboard.
The tennis star posted a picture of herself on Instagram wearing high heels for a shopping trip in Istanbul, where she is competing in the Istanbul Cup this week.
Alongside the photo she wrote: “Out and about in Istanbul. It's been three years since I have worn high heels on a normal day out. #feelsgood #looksgood #shopping #highheels #sun.”
Wozniacki is four centimetres taller than McIlroy at 1.79m to his 1.75m and the three years is believed to be a reference to the duration of their relationship. The pair ended their engagement in May.
The comment from Wozniacki has echoes of remarks made by Nicole Kidman after she split from Tom Cruise and announced her delight that she could finally wear heels again.
The couple off their engagement in May, just days after sending out their wedding invitations.
During Wimbledon, Wozniacki laughed off the idea that she might try Internet dating as the Dane said she was not ‘desperate’ enough to try virtual apps such as Tinder.
