Mishra shines

Brisbane: Leg-spinner Amit Mishra bagged four wickets to spell trouble for the hosts as India A restricted Australia A to 288 for seven on the opening day of the second and final four-day tie, at the Allan Border Field, here, on Sunday.

Electing to bat, Australia were also hurt by pacer Umesh Yadav’s early burst that fetched him two wickets. Umesh drew first blood after cleaning up opener Alex Doolan for 18 and soon got Phillip Hughes for 12.

Australia A were under pressure at 38 for two and to compound their problems, Mishra sent Chris Lynn (12) packing to the pavilion. At 64 for three, the visitors looked under control till Peter Forrest and James Faulkner dug deep.
