Trinamul feud

July 6: Two Trinamul leaders left the venue of a meeting East Midnapore party chief Sisir Adhikari convened in the district today after being forced to cut short their speeches as some members apparently owing allegiance to the Contai MP hollered at them.

“Party workers shouted at me and abused me. Sisirbabu did nothing to stop them,” said Akhil Giri, the district Trinamul working president.

A source quoted minister Soumen Mahapatra, who too was interrupted, as saying later that he was “insulted after being invited to the meeting by Sisirbabu”.

Sisir said “no commotion” took place at the meeting. “This is a small matter. A few party workers might have protested, but the leaders should not have left without completing their speeches,” he said.
