Twin attack on BJP

June 20: A BJP block president and a party worker were assaulted in two villages of South 24-Parganas today, prompting the Bengal unit to seek the central leadership’s intervention in preventing “Trinamul atrocities”.

“We have informed the central leadership of the repeated attacks on our party activists and requested it to intervene so that government-sponsored terror is stopped,” state BJP president Rahul Sinha said this afternoon.

The Trinamul leadership denied the charges. “The BJP should stop talking about the state’s law and order situation because people are well-protected here,” said Partha Chatterjee, the Trinamul secretary-general.
