IOA tiff to the fore

New Delhi: In an unprecedented move, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) secretary general, Rajiv Mehta, on Thursday, asked its president, NR Ramachandran, to immediately submit India’s bid for the 2019 Asian Games or be “solely responsible” for letting the country down.

In a letter, the IOA secretary wrote that since more than 85 per cent of the sports federations and state Olympic associations had already given their consent, Ramachandran should not delay submitting the bid before the deadline.
