NZ 86/1 at lunch

Port of Spain: Tom Latham continues with the good work as his unbeaten 51 guided New Zealand to 86 for one at lunch on Day I of the second Test against West Indies, here, at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Giving Latham company was Kane Williamson (23), with the duo already having shared a 70-run partnership for the second wicket. The visitors lost Hamish Rutherford early in the ninth over when pacer Jerome Taylor had the former caught by Chris Gayle with only 16 runs on board.

But thereafter, Latham’s assured presence made matters easier for the visitors as all efforts from the Windies bowlers till then bore no fruit.
