Sindhurakshak salvage operation

New Delhi, June 16: INS Sindhurakshak, the submarine that sank in August last year after an explosion in which 18 personnel died, has been salvaged and raised on a pontoon in the naval dockyard in Mumbai.

Sources said the condition of the salvaged vessel did not suggest that it could be used again. A board of inquiry will now inspect the vessel to establish the cause of the explosion.
