Presidency, Capital advance

Guwahati, June 15: Capital Public School and Presidency School sealed their places in the semi-finals of the Munindra Chandra Paul Guwahati Sports Association Under-15 Inter-School Cricket Tournament at Latasil playground here today.

Capital Public School got the better of St Paul English School by five wickets in the third quarter-final. Put in to bat, St Paul batsmen managed 86 runs before being all out in 17.4 overs. Vijay Thakur scored 26 runs. Utpal Das was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets.

In reply, Capital Public boys got past the target losing five wickets in 14.3 overs. Sarvesh Yadav and Pritam Saha scored 20 and 19 runs respectively. Vijay Thakur bagged three wickets.

Presidency School edged past South Point School by five runs in the fourth quarter-final. Put in to bat, Presidency School put up 60 runs before being all out in 16.2 overs. Rohit Sarma was the lone batsman to reach double figures with 17 runs. Bishal Pratim Sarma and Ayush Sarma picked up three wickets each.

In reply, South Point boys managed 55 runs before being bundled out in 19.5 overs.
