Cup trip

Panaji, June 12 (PTI): A decision by the BJP government in Goa to send six MLAs of the ruling party on a 10-day trip to Brazil to watch the World Cup at a cost of Rs 89 lakh has come under attack from the Opposition parties.

The Congress today called the trip a “wasteful expenditure” and sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to “stop the junket”. Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has justified the “study tour”.
