New Delhi, June 7: General Motors India has launched a limited edition of its entry-level compact car Chevrolet Spark priced up to Rs 3.99 lakh.
The new edition has additional features such as outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals, the company said in a statement.
Company officials said the refreshed model was made for first-time buyers and would help push sales.
The car is powered by a 1-litre petrol engine and competes with cars such as the Maruti Alto. “With the launch of another limited edition model with more features, GM India has sought to exceed the expectations of its customers,” GM India president and managing director Arvind Saxena said.
The company is planning to launch a slew of refreshes and models throughout the year to increase sales. GM reported a 42.76 per cent decline in May sales at 4,865 units. It had sold 8,500 units in the same month of last year.
Last month, the company launched the limited edition of its multi-purpose vehicle Chevrolet Enjoy. It also launched a version of the hatchback Beat — its best-selling model in the country.
