Morigaon defeat Udalguri

Guwahati, June 4: Morigaon Coaching Centre registered a seven-wicket victory over Udalguri Cricket Academy in the Dilip Sarmah Under-14 Inter District Cricket Coaching Centre Championship at the Northeast Frontier Railway Stadium here today.

The Morigaon team took the field with 10 men after one of their players was declared overage.

Electing to bat, the Udalguri boys managed 63 runs in 21.5 overs.

Rohit Chetry with 12 runs off 41 balls was the lone batsman to reach the double-figure mark while as many as 36 runs came in the form of extras.

Ajijur Rahman picked up four wickets while Chand Mohammad bagged three wickets.

In reply, Morigaon eased past the target losing two wickets in 15.1 overs, thanks to 36 extras conceded by Udalguri.

Opener Abhinash Nath remained unbeaten on nine while Ajijur Rahman remained not out on seven. Spandan Poudal and Rohit Chetry picked up a wicket each.
