Calcutta: Till late on Monday, one arrival was confirmed, the other wasn’t.
Iconic adventurer Mike Horn, who doubles up as a motivational guru, rejoins the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before their blockbuster Qualifier 1 match against the Kings XI Punjab.
However, the official word on Shah Rukh Khan was limited to “he’s expected.” Shah Rukh’s the principal owner of KKR.
“Mike had promised to rejoin the squad once we made the play-offs and he’s honouring the word he gave me. Mike’s flying over from Switzerland, after a successful expedition in Nepal,” Venky Mysore, KKR’s CEO, told The Telegraph.
Horn had been with the Gautam Gambhirs, in the UAE, before IPL VII got underway. His prediction: KKR could create “magic.”
The franchise has already done that, rising from defeats in four matches on the trot to winning seven in a row.
According to Mysore, Horn will stay with the squad till the end of KKR’s campaign.
To talk of Shah Rukh... The megastar is neck deep shooting for Happy New Year, being produced by his own Red Chillies Entertainment.
Mysore, who wears the Red Chillies hat as well, said: “After every match that we’ve won, an overjoyed Shah Rukh has promised to come for the next one... He’s expected here, at this point in time.”
Apparently, the shooting is at a critical stage, with stunt directors from Canada overseeing the action on a “very expensive set” in Mumbai. Besides, it won’t be easy adjusting the dates of the Deepika Padukones.
But, Shah Rukh is known to overcome odds, so…
Directed by Farah Khan, Happy New Year is set for a Diwali release, in October.
