Sexual assault

A 35-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Asaraf, was arrested and forwarded to jail on Monday on charges of sexual assault on a Bangalore-based girl, reports our special correspondent.

The girl, who works with a private firm, had lodged a complaint with the Jakkanpur police station, accusing Asaraf, a resident of new Bigrahpur in Patna, of luring her on the pretext of marriage.

The police raided Asaraf’s house at New Bigrahpur and took him into custody. The police added that Asaraf, also an employee of a private firm, was already married and is a father of two.
