Srinivasan files appeal

Calcutta: Narayanswamy Srinivasan, the effectively suspended president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), filed an appeal in the Supreme Court, on Wednesday, wanting modification of the interim orders passed by the apex court on March 28 and May 16 and his reinstatement as the Board chief for non-IPL matters.

But Aditya Verma, on the other hand, has decided to file a contempt petition before the apex court against the suspended BCCI chief and other important functionaries of the Board for allegedly violating an earlier order of the top court.

“Being a petitioner of this case, now I will move a contempt against BCCI, Srini and especially against IPL chairman (Ranjib Biswal),” Verma said in a release.

In an interview to The New Indian Express on 3.05.2014, Biswal had said that “overall, he (Srinivasan) is the president of BCCI”.
