GTC humble Brahmaputra

Guwahati, May 19: Hosts Gauhati Town Club Cricket Centre registered a four-wicket victory over Brahmaputra Boys Club in their match of the 1st Maharshi Bora Trophy Cricket Tournament at Judges Field here today.

Put in to bat, Brahmaputra Boys Club could only manage 71 runs before being bundled out in 20.2 overs.

Anjan Chetry, with 18 runs off 27 balls, was the only notable contributor for his side. Aryaman Pangal was the wrecker-in-chief with five wickets in his kitty for 13 runs in his five overs.

Abhinav Choudhury returned with figures of four wickets for 17 runs in his 5.2 overs. Chasing a meagre total, the GTC boys faced some blows in the match.

However, they got past the target losing six wickets in 23.2 overs.

Abhinav Choudhury scored an unbeaten 19 runs off 37 balls for his side. Akash Chetry picked up three wickets going for 14 runs in his seven overs.

Iftarul Hussain supported his side and scalped one wicket conceding 19 runs in his seven overs.

Volleyball training: A three-day under-13 volleyball coaching camp started today under the Karimganj District Sports Association at the Government Higher Secondary School ground in Karimganj district as per the instructions of the Assam Volleyball Association.
