Rahul skips PM dinner

New Delhi, May 14: Rahul Gandhi missed a farewell dinner hosted by Sonia Gandhi for outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the Congress vice-president was out of town.

Congress leaders said Rahul had called on the Prime Minister on Saturday to thank him and inform him he would be out of station today.

“After three months of gruelling campaign, Rahulji is out of town for two days. He will be back tomorrow. Rahulji has already met the honourable Prime Minister on May 10 to personally thank him for services and contributions rendered to the nation,” Ajay Maken said.

Ally Omar Abdullah tweeted: “If you knew he was not attending the dinner and he had explained his absence to the PM earlier, put out the statement before the news breaks.”
