Lalu on exit poll

Patna, May 14: The RJD chief, Lalu Prasad, today described the exit polls as a conspiracy to influence the counting process.

“There is a conspiracy to demoralise the people who have voted against the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, especially our counting agents. I appeal to the agents to be alert during the counting process,” Lalu told reporters.

Dubbing the exit polls fake and concocted, he said: “I cannot comment on other states. But I have toiled in Bihar. I know the aggressive voting by the downtrodden, minorities and backward classes. Modi and the BJP do not have an answer to that sort of voting. Our alliance will win most of the 40 seats.”

The exit polls gave the RJD-Congress alliance seven to 15 seats. Lalu feels the combine would do much better and emerge as the largest political block in Bihar.

“I am not at the mercy of opinion or exit polls. I am at the mercy of the people,” Lalu said.
