Priyana, Yuvrani in finals

Guwahati, May 11: Priyana Kalita of Assam and Yuvrani Banerjee of Bengal will play for double crown in the AITA Championship Series under-18 tennis tournament at All Assam Tennis Association Complex here tomorrow.

Both have qualified for the girls’ singles and doubles finals to be played tomorrow.

While Yuvrani defeated Assam opponent Naziya Ahmed and Priyana entered the final when Anindrita Mitra of Madhya Pradesh, who twisted her ankle, conceded the match trailing 5-0 in the first set. Priyana partnered Yuvrani in the doubles and got a walkover against Anindrita and Lenien Jamir of Assam.

In the boys’ singles final, Ishaque Iqbal of Bengal will meet Elan Elangovan of Tamil Nadu tomorrow.
