Need to bat better: Albie

Bangalore: Their back against the wall after just three wins in five outings, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Albie Morkel said the star-studded team will have to sort out their batting woes if they want to make the IPL play-offs.

To be in the top-four in points table, RCB have to win all the remaining six games, Morkel said.

“We need to win our remaining six games. We have struggled as a batting unit. Our batsmen have made good starts, making 30s and 40s, but no one has carried through to score a good 75 or 80 Big scores are needed if you want to win games consistently. So, in a nutshell, we need to bat better,” he told reporters here.

“It is important to stay positive and switch on at the right moments to win games,” Morkel stated. Asked whether their confidence has taken a beating after they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of a rampaging Kings XI Punjab, Morkel said the team should stay optimistic. (PTI)
