Not taking RCB lightly: Steven

Bangalore: Hammered in their previous match, the struggling Royal Challengers Bangalore will face another tough battle when they take on the resolute Rajasthan Royals in an IPL VII match, here, on Sunday.

The Royal Challengers were crushed by Kings XI Punjab on Friday when their bowlers were handed out a thrashing by David Miller. Led by the feisty Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers are struggling to keep their chances alive in the contest, having already suffered five defeats in eight games.

The Royals, on the other hand, also tasted defeat in their last match when they were overwhelmed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

On the eve of match, Royals’ Steven Smith said that his team would try to get on top of the troubled Royal Challengers.

“Bangalore are in a rough situation as they have to win majority of the games, if not all, to make it to the playoffs. Hopefully, we can maintain our momentum and try to get on top of them,” Smith said.

He, however, admitted that since Bangalore are in a precarious situation, they may come out all guns blazing.

“I think the Royal Challengers have got some quality players. T20 is a quite a tricky game. One day you won’t score and the next day you could come all guns blazing.”

They have also got some big match-winners and we will try to contain them.”
