Chidi likely to stay with EB

Calcutta: East Bengal have almost confirmed Edeh Chidi’s services for another season. The Nigerian striker had a round of talks with the club officials on Thursday and has more or less finalised the deal.

East Bengal have already roped in Ranty Martins for the forthcoming season.

Meanwhile, the uncertainty over the coach continues. A section of the club officials are still hopeful that Armando Colaco will remain the coach.

“Colaco has listed certain conditions in a letter to the club secretary. The letter will be discussed at a meeting in a few days. We will then take a final decision on retaining his services,” said a senior club official.

Churchill had shown interest in Colaco but later appointed Edward Ansah as coach.

East Bengal are also in talks with midfielder Ogba Kalu, who turned out for Sporting Clube de Goa last season.
