Jorhat defeat Mangaldoi

Guwahati, May 8: Jorhat registered a comfortable 87-run victory over Mangaldoi in their match of the second Umananda Bora Under-13 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Barsapara Cricket Stadium here today.

Put in to bat, Jorhat managed 161 runs before being all out in 37.2 overs. Kukil Gogoi and Raktim Ranjan Das scored 20 runs each.

Ziyad Zaman was the pick of the Mangaldoi bowlers with four wickets to his kitty for 32 runs in his allotted eight overs.

In reply, Mangaldoi could only manage 74 runs before being bundled out in 27.5 overs. Subhrangam Bharali with 17 runs off 51 balls was the only batsman to reach double figures.

Minhazul Abdin shone with the ball too, picking up three wickets conceding 15 runs in 5.5 overs while Rupam Das bagged two wickets giving away eight runs in three overs.

Charaideo will lock horns with Sivasagar in the third quarter- final tomorrow.
