Assam crush Arunachal

Golaghat/Dibrugarh, April 30: Hosts Assam blanked Arunachal Pradesh 8-0 in a group D match of the 20th Senior National Women’s Football Tournament at Butolikhowa in Golaghat district of Upper Assam today.

Ranjumoni Barman and Dorothy Uriya struck a hattrick each for Assam. While Barman scored four goals, Uriya ruffled the net thrice. Pranati Basumatari fired in one more goal for the home state.

In a group D match at Golaghat District Sports Association Stadium in Golaghat town, Jharkhand held Tamil Nadu to a 2-2 draw.

Earlier, at the same venue, Pondicherry rode nine goals by S. Pradipa to rout Uttarakhand 26-0.

Karnataka rode a hattrick by Amoolya Kamal to thrash Gujarat 8-1 in a Group B match at Jalan Outdoor Stadium in Dibrugarh today.

In another Group B match at the same venue, Odisha blanked Haryana 6-0.

This was the second win for Odisha in the league. Odisha dominated the match throughout the 90 minutes while Haryana squandered several scoring opportunities.

In a match played at Chabua near Dibrugarh, Mizoram held Goa to a 1-1 draw.
