Enclave votes

Cooch Behar, April 15: The India Bangladesh Enclave Exchange Co-ordination Committee today said the organisation had decided to support the Trinamul Congress in the Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar Lok Sabha seats.

Its assistant secretary Diptiman Sengupta said a meeting was held in Cooch Behar in which the decision was taken. He said chief minister Mamata Banerjee had referred to the problems faced by the enclave dwellers at a public meeting in Dinhata on April 12. The committee has sent a fax to the chief minister this evening, mentioning that around 25,000 people who reside in over 50 Bangladeshi enclaves in India and possess voter cards would vote for Trinamul.
