We’re not intimidated, insists Allan Donald

Dhaka: India’s the team in form, but the South Afri-cans aren’t intimidated.

“We’re not intimidated... We’ve been preparing well and, in this break, (mental conditioning coach) Paddy Upton has done a wonderful job,” South Africa’s bowling coach, Allan Donald, told The Telegraph.

Speaking informally, on Thursday, Donald added: “We have the belief and, having come through tight matches, are hoping to make it count in the semi-final... The final, hopefully, as well.”

Donald confirmed that it was at his request that the one and only Shane Warne spent an hour at South Africa’s nets on Wednesday.

“I wanted Shane to have a word with (leggie) Imran Tahir, who loved the session... When somebody of Shane’s stature talks, you try and take everything on board,” Donald said.

Smiling, Donald quipped: “I’d, of course, never imagined Shane and I would be at the same nets! But, then, cricket helps build relationships.”
