Football meet from April 27

Guwahati, April 1: The Assam Football Association (AFA) is hosting the 20th Senior Women’s National Football Championship at Dibrugarh and Golaghat in Upper Assam from April 27 to May 11.

Altogether 20 states, including Railways, who have been given direct entry for the first time, will feature in the tournament.

Kokrajhar was originally interested in hosting the meet but the venue had to be shifted to Upper Assam in view of the general elections in lower Assam on April 24.

The teams have been divided into four clusters of five each and will play their preliminary leg at Jalan Stadium in Dibrugarh and Golaghat District Sports Association Stadium in Golaghat.
