England triumph

Sylhet: England qualified for the semi-finals after cruising to a seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka.

A defeat would likely have ended their hopes of reaching the last four and rose to the occasion to secure a vital victory.

Anya Shrubsole returned incredible figures of 3/9 from four overs as Sri Lanka managed to post just 85 for nine after winning the toss and choosing to bat.

England reached the modest target with four overs to spare as opener Sarah Taylor (36) got the chase off to a good start before Heather Knight (21) helped complete the job.

Shrubsole started to assert her influence on the game in the very first over as she trapped Chamari Atapattu lbw for a duck with the second ball of the match.
