Eastern beat Tekcham 5-4

Imphal, March 24: Eastern Studentsí Club got the better of Tekcham Polo Club(B) by 5-4 goals today to ride into the quarter- finals of the fourth 57 Mountain Division Polo Tournament, 2014 at Mapal Kangjeibung.

Tekcham scored the first goal through S. Ranjit to lead the first chukker. In the second chukker, Tekcham rider Th. Kabita Singh increased the lead to 2-0. Eastern Students rode back, with A. Cameroon hitting home two goals to level scores.

In the third chukker, Eastern Studentsí took the leap with B. Shantikumar striking two goals but Tekcham came back with M. Bhuno and S. Sadananda fetching a goal each to level scores 4-4.

Later, Eastern had the last laugh with B. Shantikumar coming up with his teamís fifth goal for the victory today. In the other matches, Manipur Police Sports Club(A) drubbed Kangchup Road Youth Physical and Sporting Association 9-0. Manipur Police Sports Club(C) posted a 5-3 win over Chingkhei Hunba Polo Club.

Football: FC Khanglai thrashed Youth Development Organisation by 6-0 goals in IWDFA first L. Bhagyachandra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament played at THAU ground today.
