Got out to a poor shot, says Ishank

Calcutta: Ishank Jaggi admitted he played a wrong shot as Jharkhand ended on the losing side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final tie against Karnataka despite his valiant 141.

“I wanted to finish off the match. I tried to be calculative in my approach.

“But unfortunately, I got out playing a poor shot. Since there were big-hitters down the order like (Kumar) Deobrat and Kaushal Singh, I felt I could go for that shot,” lamented Jaggi.

Jaggi was dismissed in the 38th over of the match with Jharkhand still needing 104 runs from 12.4 overs with seven wickets in hand. In the end, Saurabh Tiwary’s men fell short by 21 runs. Inexperience, too, played its part in the loss, Jaggi pointed out.
