Depleted Bagan staying positive

Shillong: McDowell Mohun Bagan will be without their goalkeeper Shilton Paul, defender Aiborlang Khongjee and winger Ram Malik when the Calcutta team take on Rangdajied United FC (RUFC) in the Airtel I-League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, here, on Saturday.

Karim Bencharifa’s men will look to garner all the three points while RUFC, under Herring Shangpliang, will look to continue their good run after back-to-back victories at home.

The two clubs had earlier met in Calcutta last year where RUFC got the better off Bagan.

From the 18 games played, RUFC, at the 11th spot, have garnered 18 points, while Bagan, at the eighth spot, have 21 points from 19 matches.

While RUFC will go into the match with two straight victories behind their back, Bagan have not won any of their last four I-League matches.

Bagan striker Okolie Odafa will be back in the team after recovering from injury.
