Sangh managers

New Delhi, March 10: The RSS has distributed the job of co-ordination and management of its political engagements with the BJP among three joint general secretaries, Dattatreya Hosabale, Suresh Soni and Krishna Gopal.

Soni has been handling the task for the past six years or so. But there was a perception, backed by specific allegations, that he had become part of the BJP’s factional politics in the process and “tended to take sides”. RSS seniors felt Soni often denied them the benefit of an objective understanding and analysis of the BJP.

The RSS is trying this out for the first time. Sources said it was important because of the high stakes the Sangh has invested in the poll by pushing Narendra Modi as the BJP’s Prime Minister candidate.
