Camp rush to enrol names

If the turnout at polling booths across the state on Monday to register names on the electoral list is anything to go by, Jharkhand will witness some hectic voting this year.

Like Sunday, the demand for Form 6 to include names on the voter list was more. The special enrolment camp was extended for a day in view of Ajsu’s bandh in protest against Tileshwar Sahu’s murder.

“We are hopeful that the voting rate will improve in the state this time,” said P.K. Jajoria, chief electoral officer, Jharkhand.

Agreed a senior official from the cabinet (election) department.

“Each booth reported about addition of 10 to 30 names. At some places, the figures were higher. Booth-level officers were provided enough number of Form 6,” he said.
