Fest for tiny tots

The junior school fest at Loreto Day School, Elliot Road, saw 12 schools taking part. “We get a lot of fest invites for secondary and higher secondary students. There are hardly any invite for the juniors. That is why we organised this programme. And look how other schools have responded. The juniors are doing well in all aspects of the fest,” said Sister A Nirmala, the principal.

BITM fair

From a special purifying chemical to an alarm for a safe home — school and college students from Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and the Northeast displayed several innovative models at the Eastern India Science and Engineering Fair at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum recently. The special guests at the inauguration were scientist Bikash Sinha and US consul general Helen LaFave.

Sri Sri concert

Sri Sri Academy hosted an autumn choral concert for the children recently. Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, was chief guest at the event.

Music and moves

SOS Children’s Village, Calcutta, hosted a cultural programme where the little ones danced while their mothers sang. The programme was in honour of Siddhartha Kaul, the president of SOS Children’s Villages International.
