Imphal, Feb. 24: Manipur Police Sports Club (B) held Eastern Sporting Union (A) by 4-4 goals in the IWDFA first Women Futsal Tournament at Pishumthong in Imphal West today.
Manipur Police drew first blood with L. Itarani Devi scoring the opening goal in the 12th minute and teammate Syed Buckshera consolidated with the second goal in the 13th minute.
However, equally positive were Eastern Sporting Union who pumped in two goals in quick succession for the equaliser through Zinnia in the 14th minute and Kashmina in the 15th minute.
Manipur Police Sports Club took the lead with Sh. Shanti scoring the teamís third goal in the 22nd minute but Eastern forward Ksh. Margaret fetched the equalising goal in the 23rd minute.
Manipur Police increased the lead through Syed Buckshera in the 31st minute but Eastern got the equaliser through Ksh. Margaret for a 4-4 draw and a point each.
In the other matches, Eastern Sporting Union (B) beat Youth Welfare Club, Langthabal, by 2-1 goals. Youth Welfare Club cracked the first goal through Ng. Anibala in the seventh minute to dominate the first half. Eastern Sporting Union player M. Mandakini fetched the equaliser in the 23rd minute and I. Prameshori came up with the winning goal in the 26th minute for the victory. Manipur Police Sports Club (A) drubbed Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club by 6-1 goals. O. Bembem scored three goals while Ng. Bala fetched two goals and Th. Tababi chipped in with one goal. Sh. Hemarani came up with the lone goal for the Naharol Yaipha team.
Kickboxing: Assam clinched four bronze medals in the WAKO India 18th Cadet and Senior National Kickboxing Championship in Pune from February 13 to 16.
UKAA events: The United Karate-Do Association, Assam, announced the calendar for events to be held this year. The fixtures were decided in a meeting of the executive council yesterday.
