Mizoram in semis

Aizawl, Feb. 7: Mizoram and Meghalaya today kicked their way into the semi-finals of the fifth T. Ao football tournament, getting the better of their respective opponents Nagaland and Tripura. Meghalaya trounced Tripura 5-0 while Mizoram humbled Nagaland 7-1.

Mizoramís nimble foot winger Lalbiakhlua struck for a hattrick. Nagaland were awarded a penalty kick in the 74th minute when Mizoram were leading 6-0. Nagaland player Akum Ao translated it into a goal. The last three minutes saw Mizoramís seventh goal through Valpuia.

Mizoram and Meghalaya will clash on Monday to decide winner of the pool A.
