Force men wreck Youth Welfare

Imphal, Feb. 7: Force Khetrigao bowler Md Tasif tore down the ranks of Youth Welfare Club, Patsoi, batsmen, claiming six wickets for his teamís victory in the 1st MCA Plate Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.

Youth Welfare Club won the toss and decided to bat, managing a paltry 54 runs for 10 wickets from 35 overs. Youth batsman Jemson Singh with 11 runs and Rex with 10 runs were among the batsman who reached double figures.

Force Khetrigao bowler Md Tasif was the chief wrecker, claiming six wickets while Avinash got two wickets and Nazir picked up one.

In reply, Force Khetrigao reached the target easily, losing one wicket from 12.4 overs.

Noor Alam with 19 runs and Shubhadin with 17 runs remained not out.

Md Tasif was named Man of the Match.

Servo cricket: City Cricket Club got off to a flying start registering a thumping 102-run victory over Chandmari Sports Club in the inaugural match of the Servo 21st Guwahati Challenge Trophy All-Assam Cricket Tournament, organised by River Rine Club at Judges Field here today.

Batting first, City Cricket Club put up a competitive total of 236 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Suheil Rahman topscored with 34 runs.

Chintu Borgohain, Debojit Basumatary and Bhaben Rabha bagged two wickets each.

Chandmari batsmen were bundled out 134 in 28.5 overs. Ratnajit Baruah scored 35 runs while Debojit Basumatary contributed 21 runs.

Bhaskar Borah picked up three wickets.
