KLO duo detained

Siliguri, Feb. 6: Two suspected KLO militants have been detained near the Indo-Nepal border, intelligence sources said, but refused to give their identities.

Sources said members of the Special Operation Group formed to track KLO militants have nabbed the duo. “The two have been detained and some relevant documents and proof have been sought to verify their identities. Officials are talking to them and trying to obtain information,” the source said.

Intelligence officers had information that some KLO militants, including leaders Tom Adhikary and Manchalal Singha, were residing in Nepal. “The top KLO militants have divided in groups. One such group is in Nepal while the other group is operating from the Northeast,” a senior police officer said.

On January 29, the SOG nabbed Narayan Roy, the deputy commander-in-chief and Pradip Roy, the assistant general secretary of the KLO, in Khoribari that is close to the Indo-Nepal border.
