Tea meet in Tezpur

Guwahati, Feb. 5: The 124th annual general meeting of the Assam branch of the Indian Tea Association will be held at Tezpur on February 15.

Tour

Jorhat: Minister of state for petroleum, natural gas and textiles Panabaka Lakshmi is on an Upper Assam tour of oil installations since Monday. She visited Oil India Limited field headquarters at Duliajan (Dibrugarh), ONGC Assam Asset at Nazira, Sivasagar district and NRL, Golaghat district.

Strike call

Dhubri: The KLO has called a 12-hour strike in some districts of Bengal and Assam on Thursday from 5am to 5pm in protest against the killing of KLO self-styled corporal, Brindaban Rajbangshi, allegedly in a fake encounter with security forces at Naigaon in Kokrajhar district on February 1.

Kidnapped

Kokrajhar: Businessman Anup Das, 36, of Kashikotra in Chirang district is suspected to have been kidnapped from Khungring Dakhingaon in the district on Tuesday.
