More trouble for IFA

Calcutta: The IFA Shield has run into rough weather, again.

The IFA is struggling to fit in the matches that they were forced to postpone because of the late arrivals of Geylang International and Dhanmondi Club.

It has now decided to hold the United SC-Geylang and Mohun Bagan-Dhanmondi matches tentatively on Saturday.

They are also planning to hold the semi-finals on February 11.

However, with the city-based clubs scheduled to resume I-League action on February 14, the IFA is hard-pressed to squeeze in the final before that.

However, none of the four city-based clubs are willing to play beyond February 12, as the fate of the final hangs in balance.

Postponing the final could be a possibility, but only if none of the foreign teams make it to the title round.
