Degree day cheers for 1475 Xaverians

- 29 win gold in graduation, PG & BEd

It was a momentous occasion for students of autonomous St Xavier’s College, Ranchi, as they received their degrees at the fifth graduation ceremony of the cradle on Monday.

Graduation, post-graduation and BEd students gathered on campus. Though many as 1,475 students were awarded, only 1,200 turned up to receive their degrees.

Of the 29 gold medal winners, 26 turned up to get the honour from the chief guest, vice-admiral Shekhar Sinha.

Sinha handed over the medals to students of disciplines like commerce, Hindi, English, economics, English, history, bio-technology, botany, maths as well as new-age vocational course like functional English, animation, among others.

“Years of toil have brought you to the gateway of future dreams and achievements. As graduates, you have challenges and opportunities,” he said.
