2 Indian girls make semis

Calcutta: Two Indian girls entered the singles semi-finals of the ongoing ONGC ITF Juniors meet at the DKS on Thursday. The finals are on Saturday.

Unseeded Karman Kaur Thandi beat seventh seeded compatriot Vasanti Shinde in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the quarter-finals.

Thandi will face the other Indian player, Ojasvinee Singh, in the semi-finals on Friday. Ojasvinee sailed past Russia’s Anna Ureke 6-2, 7-5.

Top seed Pranjala Yadlapalli from India lost against USA’s Raveena Kingsley.
