Ranchi, Jan. 20: The state Congress today removed five district unit chiefs from their positions for reasons ranging from inefficiency to non-cooperation during party events.
Also, animal husbandry minister Mannan Mallick has been asked to vacate the Dhanbad Congress president’s post under the party’s policy to not allow a member to hold more than one post at a time.
“These five removals are part of the party’s move to strengthen the organisation. Their performance was not up to the mark in the past five months as per internal assessment reports. Elections are round the corner and we can’t take any risk,” state Congress chief Sukhdeo Bhagat told The Telegraph.
Among those who faced the axe for poor performance are Anita Tudu (Jamtara), Arvind Ram (Latehar), Kamar Sakdar (Garhwa), Dharmendra Sahu (Chatra), Chunnu Oraon (Gumla).
