Manager suicide

The manager of a petrol pump, under pressure to repay an amount he had allegedly embezzled, immolated himself on Friday morning.

Muzaffar Imam, the manager of a petrol pump at Sasamusa under the jurisdiction of Kuchaikot police station, sprinkled petrol on his body around 9.30am. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

He was under pressure to pay Rs 5 lakh to the owner of the petrol pump, Hasan Imam. He said Muzaffar had claimed he had given petrol worth Rs 5 lakh to a Delhi-based transporter but had not paid. The transporter although asserted that he had paid the money.
